Inter Pre-Majors

Inter Pre Majors is an invitation only gifted and talented class for students RAD Grade 3-5 who show potential and facility for classical ballet.

Students are invited on the recommendation of our Head of Ballet. In the autumn term the students follow a rigorous course of Pilates based stretch and conditioning work every second week, which they are expected to continue in their own time throughout the rest of the year. The classes are unset ballet classes designed to expand the young dancers vocabulary and give them an opportunity to try more complex moves that they wouldn't necessarily be faced with in their weekly syllabus class. The class also helps prepare the students for auditioning for associate schemes such as Ballet Theatre UK  or Midland Associates, as well as full time vocational dance school. In the spring term the students focus on pointe work and allegro, the two areas of class that can sometimes be neglected. In the summer term  the inter pre majors class get plenty of opportunity to perform and represent Welland school of dancing at fetes, festivals and displays.

UNIFORM

All Pre-Majors wear a black double strap Capezio leotard, Inter Pre Majors have a navy wrap around skirt.
